Center for Resilience seeks to empower people to empower themselves through the practice of mindfulness which fosters success in the classroom, community and workplace. Our trained staff, tailored curriculum, interactive workshops, and online resources help children and adults manage stress, overcome obstacles, cultivate compassion and thrive through adversity – outcomes that benefit both the individual and society as a whole.


Childhood Lead Action Project


Since 1992, the Childhood Lead Action Project has worked to eliminate childhood lead poisoning through education, parent support and advocacy. The Project is the only organization in Rhode Island devoted exclusively to this critical issue.


Clinica Esperanza/Hope Clinic


Clinica Esperanza provides culturally attuned, linguistically appropriate medical care to uninsured adults living in Rhode Island.  They leverage the altruism of >250 volunteers to provide neighbor-to-neighbor healthcare. By providing access to primary care at the clinic, outreach in the community and partnering with local schools, hospitals and community organizations, CEHC reduces health disparities.


Farm Fresh Rhode Island


Farm Fresh Rhode Island is growing a local food system that values the environment, health and quality of life of RI farmers and eaters.


Manton Avenue Project


The Manton Avenue Project’s mission is to nurture the unique potential of young people living in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood, one of the city’s lowest income neighborhoods, by unleashing their creative voices and uniting them with professional artists to create original theater.


ONE Neighborhood Builders


Combining the strength, history and expertise of two impactful nonprofit agencies – Olneyville Housing Corporation & Community Works Rhode Island – ONE Neighborhood Builders continues the work of community revitalization in the Olneyville and Elmwood neighborhoods of Providence.  ONE Neighborhood Builders promotes equity, community health and neighborhood growth through strategic real estate development and a focus on building community assets. ONE Neighborhood Builders’ (ONE NB) mission is to work with residents to build a safe, healthy and stable community.


Project Weber/RENEW


Provides services targeted to those involved in, and at risk for, commercial sex work. The primary focus of the project is peer-led street outreach, intensive case management, HIV and HCV prevention and testing, basic needs services, and referrals. The clients are referred to partner agencies that provide services as diverse as detox, substance abuse treatment, mental and physical healthcare, housing, legal aid, and job training and employment. The project also works to advocate for increased resources for at-risk men and woman, and serves as an information “portal” for those researching the facts associated with commercial sex work.

Recycle A Bike


Educating, empowering, and building community by connecting people and bicycles. Valuable connections are made in our community shop among bicycle riders. By learning and sharing bike maintenance knowledge, people learn to believe in themselves and their community. Mobility on a bicycle is an expression of our freedom and equality! We encourage members of the public to participate in cycling as part of a healthy and active lifestyle – not just as a recreational activity, but also as a viable mode of transportation.

The Steel Yard


The Steel Yard’s historic campus is a platform for professional artists, makers and the community to practice and learn the industrial arts.
